Affiliate Window Datafeed question

Hi,

Absolute newbie at this so apologies if not the right place to post or a stupid question.

I've joined Affiliate Window but not yet joined any merchant's programmes, but if I play around with the datafeed for the categories I'm interested in, then there are several merchants available.

So I'm confused - do I need to sign up with these merchants, or does the fact they are appearing on the datafeed with my affiliate id in the links mean I would get commission if I used the links and they resulted in a sale?

I'm Adrian, I work for the Publisher Services Team at Digital Window. To answer your question it is not necessary to join the merchants that you already have access to via the feed system (and also ShopWindow). These merchants are what we call 'soft' joined to you, as they do not have any specific requirements for membership. You are joined to a few hundred of these type of merchants by default when you sign up and will indeed earn commissions on any sales generated.

A quick rule of thumb here is to simply check any links you post up, if they successfully click through to the merchants site then a membership does indeed exist (you will be presented with a 'membership does not exist' type message if this is not the case).
