    Hi There

I am new to affiliate marketing but am ready to build my first site.

I know the product I want to sell / review. I have everything ready to go. However absolutely every variation I can think of for the site address that contains information regarding what type of product I am promoting has already been taken.

    Should I
a). give up and look for a different product.
b). name the site something loosely related to the product?
c). or instead of producing a site reviewing a particular product made by several companies. Produce a site that reviews the specific product made by a specific manufacturer and base the web address around that. i.e. instead of digital telly's make it about sony telly's?

I may be over thinking this but as this is my first ever affiliate site I would really appreciate your thoughts.

    Thanks in advance

    Phil

Have you tried www.redwidgetshop.co.uk or www.redwidgetcentre.co.uk or www.logicalwidgets.co.uk or www.redwidgetworld.co.uk

or if you really want to be cheeky!

www.redwidgettrust.org.uk (I'm sure there's a Yes Men angle to this one ha ha!)

    or

    www.mysupersweetwidgets.co.uk

Just adding shop, kiosk, centre, store, market, zone, world, uk etc etc...

If your really keen on a product or industry then keep brainstorming till ya come up with something that will work well. Its there somewhere!

It's very important and helpful for SEO, and ranking to use your most important keyword as website name. To find keywords and see monthly demand for it go here: https://adwords.google.com/select/KeywordToolExternal

The best is to use a keyword with high demand (around 100.000 monthly) and low competition (less than 500.000).

To determine the competition for a keyword, use this tool:

    Hope that helps

Try looking for a different domain name. If .co.uk is taken, there are still lots of other domain names to choose from. Later you will need to point which country the site is dedicated to in Webmaster tools.

My answer would depend upon other info. For instance, if ALL the sites that you can think of are taken is this going to be too competitive for a first site? Do they all have sites up and running on them and ranking reasonably, or is this one of those niches where they are just for sale. If the former I would say forget it, find another niche or drill down if possible. If the latter then I would agree with findlite
