It helps if you believe in the product as it will make your job a lot more satisfying, whats your website?
Hi everyone,
Just finished reading alot of threads which has been really helpful in making me understand and get my head round alot of things in becoming an affliate marketer.Im in the initial stages of setting up, bought a few domain names (already made a mistake with 2 of them which was pointed out in one of the threads) including the brand name in the domain!!!, i hear this is a no no, i guess for me this journey is gonna be alot of trial and error. Ill be going down the slimming products route with the products il be promoting and this is something i am really pasionate about from my own personal experiences, and afterall the world is becoming fatter and fatter!!!
Im looking for some direction from experienced affiliates in how to grow this business for myself as i am totally new to this industry, is it a case of get as many products as you can etc and see what happens or purely just the products your believe in??

Hi there - one of the secrets is not to be in too much of a rush to 'sell' - you need to start by building a list of people interested in your niche, and people usually do this by giving away something of value in order to get people to sign up to their list - usually an eBook or a report or something. You're in a really profitable niche so there are lots of potential customers out there for you! You just need to get their trust (and their contact details!!) before you start trying to sell things to them. The successful marketers out there will tell you that 'the money is in the list'.

To get a handle on what you need to do consider writing down what you want to achieve, e.g., is it to supplement another income, how much you need/want to make, etc. That will give you an idea of how many sales you will need to achieve.
Not sure what the conversion rate, average order value and commission rate is in slimming products but lets say it's 5%, £50 and 5%. In this example, for each £1000 per year that you want to earn you will need to drive 8,000 visitors to merchants; 8,000 visitors -> 400 conversions -> £20,000 sales -> £1000 commission.
If you are looking to build niche websites you will need to create something that can attract in a multiple of the desired number of visitors, which depends on how well you can convert on your own websites. So, if you can achieve a 10% conversion on your own websites you will need to attract 80,000 visitors. Other things may convert better, such as building an opt-in email distribution list.
