Hi everyone. A newbie here to affiliation. Can you have a look at my site and see what you think as a first attempt, honest feedback welcomed on the website design, as I am new to that too.

For a site called Gardens Online, you are promoting a lot of hampers and chocolates, also you need a lot more unique content on the site as a site largely consisting of datafeeds will not be looked upon favourably by the search engines. On the plus side my first site was much worse

Thanks Warren. The chocolates etc are only on as a part of the seasonal section. I intend to change this page in line with seasonal trends.

Really appreciate your feedback, looks like I am going in the right direction ! Phew...

    My opinion:

From a visual point of view, I personally feel it looks cluttered. I would drop the background image, and try have a set colour scheme throughout.

Other than that, unique content along side the datafeeds and your set.

    Keep up the good work!

I would just echo what's already been said about unique content, although I can't see sections set up on there where you could add posts or articles? It's a very diverse subject matter and there would be no shortage of blog posts, how-to guides and feature articles you could get written and posted up there. Simple stuff like a 'guide to choosing the right Christmas tree' or 'planning ahead for your summer garden' would really help I think.

That looks waaaaay 1990s. Update visually for the present and in general overhaul all the coding.

With that domain name, i'd agree with warren_p that perhaps you need to focus more on the garden. Moving with the seasons is fine, but i'd be looking to focus specifically on gardens throughout the seasons, so in the winter the main focus should be outdoor christmas lights, that sort of thing, where at the moment that seems to be what you've added as an extra.

By all means have some of the gifts etc, but in the background, but i'd suggest that people want to see your site is related to gardening first and foremost.

There is so much opportunity for adding garden advice (especially seasonal) you can certainly get a lot of unique content on there helping your rankings.

Hi Andy - it's a brilliant start, but I'd agree it's a bit on the 'busy' side, and I think it would be good to have some informative, educational content rather than just sales links. Also, the text is very small - not very user-friendly (and I'm looking at it on quite a big screen!) Too many flashing graphics, as well - some people will find that irritating and distracting.

I would remove the "only UK links" text as it makes you look spammy
