    Hi all,

I've been looking through this forum for a few days now and can't believe the vast knowledge and help there is out there, I've always fancied a try at the world of affiliate marketing, so this is the start of my journey, so far from what I have managed to learnt, I've come up with these few questions:

    1) I have found 2 niche markets I wish to get involved in, both very close to my lifestyle and hobby, so I think they suit well. However, one niche doesn't really sell a product, it gives information, and that information is free, what is the best way to use this niche?

    2) What's the best way to find affiliate merchants that have products specifically in your market? Mine being Health & Fitness?

    3) I was going to use Wordpress for my first few pages, is this ideal?

I look forward to your replies

Hi D4N and welcome to the forum!

As you've already noticed this is a great place to start on your affiliate journey. There is a tremendous amount of information in (and around) the A4U forum.

Your first ideas for your niches are ideal as they are closely aligned to your interests and hobby. It's a great start that will ensure you have a passion about your sites and will understand your visitors needs and expectations. If you have a site that is information based then it will probably be worthwhile having a look at Google's adsense or possibly consider selling ad space once the site is established. Only you can know, but even though you say it's information based there's usually some product(s) around that your visitors may still be interested in!

As for finding products, most networks have a category or product search feature. If you've already joined up with any networks they usually have some search facilty that can be very useful in hunting down merchants most suited to your requirements. If you aren't with any networks yet then a search through here or simply a Google search should throw up plenty of possible merchants for you.
Useful tip: A very handy thing you can make use of is Affiliate Window's great tool which searches pretty much all of their merchants live for you - see: ShopWindow.com - Where do you want to shop today? - try a search and if you find a product you'd like to sell then that merchant is on the Affiliate Window network! (Other networks may have something similar but I'm most used AW).

Finally if you not completely familar with coding then Wordpress can be a great start and many seasoned affiliates still make superb use of it.

Hope that's of some help and I look forward to you being with us and sharing your experiences for a long time to come...

Well, that's more than cleared a lot of things up for me, thanks for that
