Hello Trevor.
Well as far as I know as a new member you can't edit your signature at the moment, you'll be able to edit your signature after 30 posts I believe...
Hope that helps

Hi,
My name is Trevor Bottomley, I am new to affiliate marketing, and have just joined this forum today. so I thought it polite to say hello. I have a web site and an auto responder account and a ClicBank account I also have had considerable in depth training from the net over the last four months, with regard to website building, traffic, different types of internet marketing, and I am very keen to make a start in affiliate marketing.
However! all that said there are still very grey areas in my education, I thought I would attempt to get started in forum marketing, using email signatures, etc, but the difficulty I find is knowing when one can promote a product via a signature or web link without breaching forum regulations, the wording on most forums I have visited is to me very vague.
If anyone can clarify what is allowed and what is not? which section of a forum one should visit with a view to promoting products, and when not to, it would be much appreciated.
Kind regards
Trevor Bottomley

My Blog: Affiliate Marketing Blog
Hi Deeps2365
Thank you so much for your advice, now that's the sort of thing I I am getting at, I have not looked very hard for that sort of information but I feel forums should make things like that a lot more obvious to newbies and a great deal easier to find, like a rule book in plain simple English, for simple people like me.
Thank's again
Trevor Bottomley.
You think?
Forums are designed for communities to have discussions about things they are interested in. They were not designed for people to join simply to spam them with signature links. So why would a forum publish a rule book explaining how to best go about spamming them.
If it's an informative post within the context of the forums then you will probably be ok, directing where people should go to find a certain product etc...
Just be part of a forum and help out where you can.
The more you help people, the less likely we all will get p'd off with you self promoting!
Aside: I find this whole thread irritating because it comes across like all youre here for is to find out how best to post your own self-serving links!
I'd suggest you be even more subtle next time you try it...

Hi Guys, I am also new to Affiliate Marketing but no self promoting here!
I have a very basic question which may sound stupid but its really bugging me. I only do a very small amount of Affiliate Marketing and was looking at the GAME programme on Trade Doubler. I tried contacting the contact name on the site but the email was bounced back undelivered.
My question was 'if an existing GAME account holder purchases from the GAME site after clicking one of my banners etc, do i still receive commission on the sale?'
Also the other way round too. If someone clicks through from my ad, signs up to GAME and then only buys later when he goes directly to the GAME site and continues to do so, do I earn anything? Must he always visit GAME by clicking thru from on of my GAME promotions? and is this the norm for most Merchants?
Basis question I know but your help is appreciated.

Affiliate sales you refer to a site will normally be tracked for a given length of time, e.g. 5 days, according to the cookie length offered by the merchant. So your first question is yes it should get tracked, and the second question is you get commission if it's within the cookie length.
Also, it's worth starting a new thread if you have a specific question you want answered.
