How does the product link work ?

Sorry is this seems like a silly question guys.

On sigining up with a marekting Affiliate and then chosing a company to advertise their items on my site how does the product link work ?

Do the send you a picture and link of each indiviual product / item , or do you get to browse and choose what you want to advertise on your site.

Alot of companies like it if you copy the images of the products you are advertising and host them on your domain, and some of them actually require that and will terminate their program with you if you don't. This is because every time your pages is looked at, it would pull an image from their site, increasing their bandwidth requirements and costs. And they can check who is leeching from them.

Then, to add the image to your site, simply get your affiliate link, and in the bit where it has text. (<a href="blahblahblah">insert your IMG tags here and direct to your own domain and saved image</a> If you are using any other software on tyour site, IE wordpress, this should be a bit easier than typing your HTML out, but the same principles apply... Don't forget your alt text too...
