02 March: 12 visitors from Google - 5 clicked through to amazon - 1 items ordered
03 March: 10 visitors from Google - 7 clicked through to amazon - 3 items ordered

05 March: 12 visitors from Google - 4 clicked through to amazon - 1 items ordered

The search term got 18,100 exact matches in Feb 2009.

Look at it this way. Your site received 67 visitors between the 1-5 March. 28 of these visitors clicked through the Amazon links on your site which equates to 41.79%. From these 28, you made 6 sales which is a 8.95% conversion from your 67 visitors.

At least you know your site has converted. Increase your traffic and more sales will come. The beauty of amazon also is that they are great at getting people to buy other items, increasing basket size and in turn your commission.

I am using the google keyword selector, and choose a keyword cot bed Mattress / org/ uk, it is showing 6,600 Exact matches in IE7, but when I do the same anaylsis in FF it shows 170 Exact matches, does anyone know why I am getting two different results? and which one is accurate?

At 40% visits and 1%+ conversion ratio (depending on your tactics) and with average commission of £20, you could get around £1460/mo or more.

I can suggest to check out Proactol and UniqueHoodia, but there are plenty of merchants for weight loss products. Thats a big market with many many offers.

to get the UK tool.

I see the same figures as you, but with the browsers the other way round.
I guess it just goes to show that you cannot always trust the keyword tool.

I see similar situation, very odd. The trend stats in FF shows that there are no searches in the last 3 months at all, while IE shows steady increase and big numbers for the past 3 months.

Have you tried to log in adwords and use that traffic estimator tool?

And I've just tried my 2 keywords in FF, IE and Chrome - all came out exactly the same I'll keep trying, I love seeing weird things!

Don't forget that a good site has many values other than what it returns in affiliate earnings.
A well established site with a lot of quality back-links can be a useful resource to have in your portfolio

Well, yes, I would love to create something nice and useful. It is just that I find writing unique content to be a slow process because I actually do it myself. I do not have much content yet, it goes slowly, that is why I am not in any serps for anything yet. But will wait and see. I can wait :-) Thanks for your post.
