    I will keep going.

I planeed to give it six months then review.

I will be off in August so will have a look and then see if its worth continuing with.

God knows how many hours I've spent so far!

I'm number 1 in Google for pink high heels. Haven't made any sales yet although I don't think it's been up there that long.

On the back of this thread I created several other niche websites and about 6 or 7 of them have generated over 40 sales which I don't think is too bad.

    Some of the sites are:
    batwings / co/ uk
    tunics / org/ uk
    basintaps / org / uk

I know they are quite thin but I intend to beef them up a bit and in the meantime they are making sales. Just thought I'd post to show that the methods do work. I've also got sites that I've created that haven't made any sales so I guess it's trial and error and finding out what converts and repeating the process.

    Hi,

I was just wondering how the number of visitors to your site in position 1 corresponds to the estimated search volume given by Google.

    Thanks.

Well I cant remember what Google estimates but I've just checked my stats and the most I've ever got one one day is 32 uniques and it averages out to about 15 uniques a day.

1,900 exact matches per month on average is what Google says, means that the average search volume per day should be 63 searches (based on 30 days per month). You should receive 40% of the searches for a number one spot (which you're not for me - your number 3) so sounds about right I think.

Regardless of all that - so long as your making sales thats all that matters! Congrats on such a high placing anyway, it's a good achievement and a really nice looking site to go with it.

Did you use a wordpress plugin to generate the product pages etc or was that done by hand?

Looking for link swaps and article exchanges on sites relating to cycling, bikes, mountain bikes, cycling equipment etc. Drop me a PM.

    Hi Mike,
I'm using Datafeedr for all the products which you need to pay a monthly fee to use but I've found it to be a great tool for niche sites and for bringing in long tail traffic that can be hard to generate from pure content alone in such a short space of time.

That's strange, I'm on a different computer and I'm still number one. Are you on Google.co.uk?

I get you at no.2 for uk and 3 for web.

Some of your products go to a 404 page - like this page: PAQUITA CREPE SATIN SANDALS | Pink High Heels

I'm Curious - Why don't you do your own datafeeds instead of having to pay a monthly fee?

Basically because I don't know how. I used to use Affilistore but Datafeedr lets you chose which products you want without having to download and clean the feed. Also you can do much more in terms of seo, add unique content on all of the category pages and change the descriptions without them being overwritten even though this isn't something I've done yet.

I would love to learn php and mysql so I could do it all myself but I can't get my head around it all!

Thanks for sharing - it's good to get some positive news showing it can be done, even if it's not quite as simple as it initially sounds!

Although I know html and css, I don't know php and don't particularly want to learn <G> I use Price Tapestry and cannot praise it enough. You can get templates for it too. I purchased a template and have altered it beyond recognition for my sites
Although I have never used wordpress and don't know how it works I know that Price Tapestry works well with it. And Dave's support is absolutely fantastic. He is so helpful, but must truely think of me as a pain in the butt

Although it's not free, at least it is a simple one-off charge and you can use it on as many sites as you want
