Yes if you're targetting the UK but not as important if you are targetting the US.

Here's one that I'm sure I'll kick myself for not registering myself ..

    valentinedaygifts org uk

I'd welcome a backlink from anyone who does register it though.

Not shooting you down, but as that is a seasonal domain / site, it will do nothing for 11 months of the year, and I would prefer to build something which can make money all year round.

I was going to list a fair few "new year" and "christmas" domains, but no point as they are only for money for a short period of time, I know this as I own 1 or 2 christmas domains / sites myself and they only do well from early nov to mid dec

Just stating this, so newbies will not be mislead etc and not realise this before doing it

Can't disagree with that but it could be strong for those few weeks in Feb. Add to that an Easter, Summer, Kids Holidays, Autumn and Christmas domain and you've got yourself a nice little portfolio of domains that covers the whole year but that only requires you to work on one domain at anyone time.

It won't suit everyone but I think it's quite a nice simple strategy to get a newbie started.

What are your view on domains with - in them "name-name-name.co.uk", I pretty sure I know the answer (as I have a No1 slot on G with a - domain) but would be good to hear your views and share them with the newbies

Now when you put it like that (a domain for every season lol) it does sound like a good plan for a newbie who could be working on one site at a time ready for each season. Not my personal choice of spreading the egss, but I can see the logic and think it isn't bad

I agree. I thought that was a cracking idea but then again....can you classify xmas, easter, valentines etc sites as 'niche' anymore. I would've thought there a quite a few competitors (affiliates) in those areas but I may be wrong?

    Hi Stu

I think they have their place, but I wouldn't buy one unless

    a. the uhyphened.co.uk or .org.uk was not available
    b. the unhyphend .co.uk or .org.uk was not built / ranked

Plus I would never build a site with more than 1 hyphen as they look spammy.

Just my views, and I know you can rank domains with a hyphen, but I personally always go for domains without, as I feel google knows you are only buying the domains to manipulate the serps, as no "real" business or website in their right mind would buy cheap-laptop-computers as their domain name or business name

    All IMO of course

Not if you spot a niche in the season - ie luxury easter eggs ? as opposed to the run of the mill cadburys ones

This is off the top of my head, and I have no idea of that gets searches, but you can see what I mean
