Smingle, can I just say and I am sure many would agree and have already said, that doing this for newbies to affiliate marketing is really great to see!
Any of this time could be used on your own workload but no, you have committed a little time to help newbies.

Although I am not benefitting from your domains I would like say, this can only be great for the industry.

    Cheers

    Mark

Hi Smingle, was just wondering how you know (a) the total number of sponsored ads (are you just trawling through the results returned) and (b) how you know what the average cpc is for these keywords without setting up a campaign, is there a tool online somewhere?

    Cheers

    Hi Graham,

    To answer your questions :

    a. last minute breaks - Google Search that shows the number of people bidding on PPC for last minute breaks

    b. https://adwords.google.co.uk/select/KeywordToolExternal if you select the column "Choose columns to be displayed:" click on "show estimated avg ppc" and it will display the price that is estimated for the PPC ad to show in top 3 position

Hope this helps and feel free to ask any other questions

    Thanks
    Frank

Thanks Mark ! I know I could be dedicating this time to my own workload, but it is only a small amount of time and help, but it may make a big difference to someone looking for a starting block and also someone who has been affected by the credit crunch / redundancy and is looking to make some extra money for themselves and families.

    Cheers

    Frank,

Your time & ideas are much appreciated and I think its a great idea what your doing.

I have snapped a few of the domain names up myself and already got one site built and live.

I will keep you updated on my progress with each of these projects in the coming weeks/months.

For anybody looking for a few ideas of what they could do site wise with any of these domains, please check out www.platformshoes.org.uk.

This took probably about 6 hours development time using wordpress and datafeedr and requires very little expertise.

    Cheers Frank

    Hi,

Im new to the forum and just starting in affilate marketing. I just wanted to thank you for taking the time to write this thread, it has helped me focus on exactly what I can do to get something started. I look forward to the "basic SEO guide and monetisation guide", its going to be a real help to me.

Rob: Thanks for putting that URL up, the site looks great. Im sure Smingle's guide will give his thoughts on this this, but how long do you expect to spend marketing the site and with what kind of frequency (eg 1-2-3 hours a day, an hour a week?)

Again, thanks for the effort towards us newbies. It is greatly appreciated.

    Bowser,

I work full time so I will spend whatever free time I can find over the next couple of weeks to build links/writing bits of content and see where the site end up on Google once it had been indexed.

Depending on where the site ends up Im not too sure after that.

    Hope that helps

Very nice looking site - may have to look into datafeedr. Have noticed John Lewis links don't work, and one of the products is a bike, however not your fault :tup

    Hey Andrew,

I have only been using datafeedr for a few weeks although I would definately recommend it. Its still not the finished article but it gives you enough tools to knock quick sites up.

Im still in the process of getting approved for John Lewis and a few others but hopefully that should be sorted early next week.

Hi Smingle, a great idea and thread. As a relative newbie I don't understand why the average cost per click comes out so high on the Google sponsored links link you gave earlier when, if you change the CPC to around a quarter or less of the figure it often still quotes a 1-3 placement.
Any rhyme or reason to this that you know of or is it just one of Google's little mysteries?

lastminutebreaks org uk has gone but lastminutebreaks org is still available.

    also available..

    bluraydiscplayer org uk
    cheapmp3 org uk
    cheapmp3player org uk
    bestmp3 org uk

I'm interested to see what happens if a single gateway page works so have just put this page up - Shoes and Clothing - on a new domain. No PPC or any other promotion.

I would never buy .org for seo purposes - ask yourself how many domains have you seen in the natural listings with the domain extension .org ?

As promised, I will be posting the SEO guide later today (been so busy !) and it will explain and iron out lots of creases and answers people keep asking.

    Hi Guys

Sorry for delays in seo article and more domains - it is monday after all however to keep you going, here is the next one :

    birthdayflowers / org / uk

I would politely ask for a backlink from whoever buys the domain pointing to www / lastminutebreaks / org / ukdiets / co / uk (replace the / with .) and using the anchor text "diets"

    1. birthday flowers gets an average of 1,900 exact match searches a month

    2. with a 40% ctr from serps and ONLY 5% conversion rate (targetted site) with an average commision value of just £4, you could make approx £152 a month from the serps alone.

    3. There are currently 58 sponsored ads with the average cpc at £1.86 for the words "birthday flowers"

    Thanks and hope it helps
