How to get more than 25 characters in your title

Hey,

So what's the secret then? I've seen a fews snap shots of ad copy where peoples ads have had more than the allowed 25 characters in the title? A skeptic would just say that these screen grabs have been 'shopped but the last example I've just seen was posted by a reliable source.

Am i missing something really obvious or has anybody else seen this?

Paul

Nope, keywords works in the same way. I.e. if the search term that would normally appear with keywords is longer than 25 characters then it will show the default title which isn't allowed to be more than 25 characters.

Spooky you asked this, as I've been discussing this with a few peeps for the past hour or so, following on from Kierons Blog.

Yes, I saw the screenshot you are referring to too and thought that it looked a bit long, but didn't count the characters until just now. Perhaps some advertisers have certain privileges ?

Could it be because it's a Yahoo! PPC Advert?

Re: How to get more than 25 characters in your title

OK, I am baffled.... but sussed it too....

Referring to Kierons post (sorry mate, but you are like a human puzzle ), he has managed to get a title with 32 characters in it which in itself is feat after all Google only allow 25 characters.

I have tried playing around using Keyword in different places and not yet been able to mirror his results, however my adverts only appear on the side, therefore this may have something to do with it.

Also, the fact that he has managed to use a word that Google doesn't allow me to use in either Title or Adcopy is also a little baffling... then I began to stop thinking how its possible, and accept that it is infact NOT Possible.

I then tinkered around with Yahoo and Goole searching on various terms to see what other adverts appeared. One that is featured in Kierons screenshot appears only on Yahoo, the other has a shortened version on Google.

The answer? Its a Yahoo Screenshot

Ahh well, that kept me busy most of the afternoon.... and everyone else I have been MSN'ing

Blue is indeed the clue, am very surprised nobody spotted that it was Yahoo! earlier.

Anyway, glad I managed to keep a few people entertained this Thursday afternoon

I'm sure there's a lesson to be learnt in there somewhere too....
