Hi ... I have asked several times about this but I keep getting the wrong answers.. and thats why I am wrighting a new question instead of keeping those threads going because I did not ask the question properly before...
I hardly have any money right now to be spending on my daily budget on google adwords... I spend about 12 cents to 60 cents (rarely 60 cents) on my keywords and if anyone has any suggestions on how much I should spend for a daily budget to expect a profit in return please help .. and I know that it can very but I just need a bit of an idea on it from somone who knows what they are talking about..
oh and please don't tell me anything about SEO because this is for an affiliate program and not my own website .. thank you.

Well, I'll let others answer your question as I'm not going to be able to give you the answer you're looking for - you can't give a figure for what you should be bidding to make a profit as there are too many variables. You could bid a lot and make a big loss if you don't know what you're doing, or you could bid very little and make a lot if you do.

It also depends a lot on what it is you're bidding on. If it's a competitive subject it could cost a lot, if it's very niche it could be quite little.

I think the only way you'll get a meaningful figure is if you say what it is you're wanting to promote, or at least the area, otherwise it's just plucking figures from the air. E.g. if it's finance then expect to pay a lot.

You can lose a lot of money very quickly with AdWords, so read everything you can on it and start slowly. It's not something you can just jump into and expect to make a profit just because you're spending money.

hmmm it's a how long is a peice of string question..

you could spend 2 cents and make a profit but it's not going to make you rich unless it's one click on a lear-jet and they user buys and you're on 10% commission !

you need to get off the concept of budget and think more of Return on investment, getting a good ROI from google in mainstream terms isn't that easy nowdays so you'll be lucky to get over 100% ROI unless you are in some niches or have a stunning commission deal so you need to think how much you need to earn per day and reverse engineer it.

i.e. say you need £100 per day to be happy and if you currently make 20% ROI you'll need to be spending £500 per day to make that £100 profit at the 20% also figure into this your cashflow and payment timescales from merchants.

There are many ways to lower the spend and increase the ROI such as use negatives, ask for a commission increase, refine and track your campaign to death so you know exactly what is converting, and even then keep testing different ads, landing pages or if direct to merchant consider testing different merchants or even getting all the merchant deals onto one page on a site and push traffic to that instead of direct, can work really well even if some are out of stock as long as you tell them that they are.

You need to learn as much as you can about adwords whilst spending small amounts as big mistakes now cost a few pounds but later they can cost hundreds if not thousands of pounds.

if you can't spend much then you can't expect earn that much unless you do it VERY smart, If this is your situation I'd think more about building a quality site and send visitors via that, list deals from as many of the affiliate merchants relevant to your traffic and offer a small prize that's relevant too (notice relevancy is key) and collect email addresses as they pass through, then hit the email list with updates offers etc. too..

if you can't spend much then you'll have to try harder and work smarter until you can spend more.

Hi Mate

there is no set of rulls for daily budget; what you need to concentrate on is how to choose your keywords and how relevant they are to terms visitors use. you can't just say ok, I'll spend x amount of money to get y amount of profit. you may bid on keywords very low but still sitting on high on page rank. please monitor your rivals used keywords and be patient for profit as you know it is hard to splash some money now and see the result straight after. as google itself advise always leave at least 24 hours to see the result and analyse everything. you may need changing your keywords and for particular product or placing exact landing page that you want, your visitor click on, when adding your url to your actual ad text. wish you all the best and luck!

The budget is pretty much irrelevant, its how much profit you get thats imporant.

I would set your budget to $10 say for a couple of days, and then look at the conversions you're getting. If you aren't making money with a budget of $10, then its unlikely you'll do much better at $100.

When you are using adwords to get sales, its not a question of just throwing money at it. If you have a poor conversion rate with a small budget, you're going to get the same poor conversion rate with a big budget.

I find you get much better conversions by taking people to your own landing page, rather than direct to the merchant. It gives you a chance to put down a lot of extra info, and really sell the customer on the product.

When you start getting conversions, then you can think about upping your budget to get more traffic and so more conversions. This process doesn't go on for ever though, theres always a cut off beyond which increasing the budget doesn't get more sales.

I don't care what my budget is, as long as im getting sales and a good ROI, i`ll keep upping the budget to whatever it takes.

Oh yes - I've just been there for a look and see that he keeps starting threads asking basically the same thing, people take time to give him replies and he just starts another thread asking the same thing! And they've started complaining about what he's doing and closing his threads!

ABestWeb Affiliate Marketing Forum

I did think his initial question was a bit rude, especially for a first post, saying how he kept asking but people kept giving him the wrong answers! In that link above he starts it by saying 'despite how many people i ask and how many forums i submit this question to everyone keeps giving useless answers'

Looking at the replies to his other threads people had taken some time to try to help with the limited information he gave, so to just ignore them and then start a post saying that the replies were 'useless' is pretty rude! Quite a few people have taken time to reply to him in this thread with good advice - let's see if he says thank you...or just starts another thread asking the same thing...!

I suggest spending every penny you have as well as borrowing large sums from some shady mafia types and spending all of that too. It might just work. Good luck.

PS: I'm guessing you'll just ignore this as you have all the other expert answers provided.
