    Hi,

Today one of my branded domain get deleted by domain provider by mistake. Although they have registered the same domain again for us. Is Google treat this as a new domain and degrade our ranking position? What will be the impact on major search engines?

what actions I should take to retain my ranking position. Please suggest.

    Thanks in advance!

Do you have the same old domain registration date or is there a new date assigned to the domain name??

Worth checking the whois information to get this information.

Also when was the domain name first registered by you?

I also assume that the website must have had been down for sometime too. Correct me if I am wrong.

Whois has not updated his record yet. I hope within 24 hours that record will get updated.

This is registered by me in 2005.

Our site was down for around 3-4 hours.

If Google thinks that the domain has been dropped and registered by another party, it effectively has its PageRank (i.e. SERPs potential) reset. I think you need to make sure that the registration details are as close as possible to what they were, that might convince Google that it hasn't been hijacked.

Only if the Whois AND content change - if the same site goes back up, no harm, no foul
