I have recently bought a keyword domain name. It gets a large amount of searches per month.

However I already have an existing website that is not as high for searches.

My question is if I forward the High search Keyword domain to my existing site would that cause a problem ?

Would G pick up the domain name when someone searches on it ?

The aim is for my exisiting site to gain the traffic from the highly searched domain.

If anyone has any other info that would also be a great help

(I intend the search bar to not show the re-directed site name and stay the same as what was searched)

Also does google pick up keyword domain names even if they have hifan in them

eg cheap-loans.co.uk (I dont own this by the way just an example)

Would this get the same exposure from G as if it was all one word ??

    Thanks for any help :tup

If you redirect google won't pick this up in the way your thinking. If your existing site has low traffic but you have a better, keyword rich domain, do it the other way around.

Forward your existing domain to the keyword rich one and move your content over. There's not point in using the domain which isn't keyword rich and has low traffic really.

On the second point, yes hyphens in domains can still give you good rankings but domains will rank lower than without hyphens and can look spammy so try to avoid them if possible.
