    Hi there

Does anyone have any advice on submitting your websites to services like this: Express Inclusion - Submit Site

Sounds tempting for only $19 (price at time of writing) and i've not done this before so want to know if anyone has had value from doing this or whether you're better off sticking to SEO/PPC?

    thanks, D

These days the only thing that these "website submission" do is get you listed in websites and search engines that very few (if any) people use.

You can submit your website to Google (and the rest) by their submission tools or by addming your site to Google's Websmater Tools or Yahoo Site Explorer.

Only person getting any value is the person who you are paying. Steer clear.

    Stay away!

sites like that offer nothing you cant do for free.
Build a site, build content, build links and you will have a pretty strong house.

thanks all, saved a few 'bucks'!

was always sceptical but sometimes it 'sounds so good' especially when you're in need of traffic

    the proverbial silver bullet...:blush

Good call by the other posters! Submission services of this kind are a complete waste of money!

The submission site may help some but its only part of the whole SEO project.

I want to be clear what I mean on this.

Search Engine Submission, 99% of the time, is a waste of time.

However, we cannot forget the importance of directory submission and there are a lot of directory submission & social bookmarking submission services out there that are extremely good!

We use directory maximiser for directory submission.

We don't tend to use anyone for forums as we tell our clients that THEY should be the one doing this bit as they are the most qualified to talk about their subject and get involved.

Build backlinks to your site and the search engine robots will find you, providing of course if the site linking to you is indexed

When I create a new site I usually submit to Digg, and pretty much within days my homepage is indexed on Google (sometimes within hours, depends on Google activity), a few days after that I'll find other pages getting indexed. It also depends on the size and navigation of your site to determine how long it takes for a 'whole' site to get indexed.

Well actually, the best way to get into the search engines is to be found by them.

Submitting your website to Google etc is no where near as good as if you get a decent website to link to you so that Google can FIND you instead, it's like a recommendation.

Someone recommending your business gives it more credability than you telling people about it yourself.
