    Hi All

Has anyone had any success with ranking a .me.uk highly?

Has anyone put any significant effort into ranking a .me.uk and found it could not be done?

    Thanks

Any opinions then? I don't see why it shouldn't be possible, but I'd like people's experiences.

I'm struggling with one me.uk site at the moment, whereas my similar .org.uk has ranked higher and quicker, but as i'm sure you already know this could be due to an inordinate amount of factors.

Rankinmg a website has nothing to do with domain extension... It's all about hard work and correct strategy..

So you are saying that whether you have a co.uk, .org.uk or whatever domain extension this doesn't matter. From my limited knowledge i would disagree with this. What is your opinion of Smingles .org.uk advice in this case?

.org.uk are definitely fine for ranking purposes, it's .me.uk I'm not sure about.

My response was aimed at silveradens comment as above.

I was wondering what this meant with regards to smingles thread

It definitely is possible to rank a .me.uk highly, but whether its harder than for a .org.uk or .co.uk I'm not sure.

I have tried to test this, but its so hard to build two sites that are comparable, and give them both exactly the same seo treatment.

I would say from my experience that the .me.uk's are as easy.

Would love to hear from anyone else with experience though!

Agreed, but there is some evidence to suggest that the domain extension can ease the amount of hardwork and depth of strategy.

I was advised early in my business strategy that it would be very difficult to get my co.uk domain on to page one of google.com for the search term 'mens underwear'

I am currently on page one and so have proved them wrong and therefore I would say yes it is possible to achieve the same for me.uk

I also believe a UK domain name is particularly preferential if you have a UK geo target market because statistics from nominet (I think) reported that a significantly larger percentage of people in the UK will click on a UK domain rather than a .com domain.
