I've just been advised by our hosting provider that they've moved our website to a new server to improve performance but also changed the IP

Can someone please advise on the impact on the search engines??

    thanks

It shouldn't make any difference to SEO results as long as the IP is from same geographic location. Changing IP has less impact on SE rankings and it can be undergone through ethical promotion in short time. Now Search engines are smart enough to find the change and to find why. You don’t have to worry about it. This topic is discussed on various discussion forums and blogs:-

Server or Website IP can be changed at any point of time but make sure the IP is from the same geographical location and the most important the IP must be whitelisted and not the black listed IP's. Server IP is used to categorize a website as per it's geographical location. If the IP is from the same geographical location then there won't be any effect on your website rankings. It would remain intact.
