    Hi

I'm hoping this is something you can help with, and it might be helpful for others too.

We have two versions of Firebox, US and UK. We use geo-targetting to bounce the user to the correct version of our site.

This causes problems in Google however. Because the googlebot is from the US, they get sent to a US version of Firebox, and this is the content that gets listed. So its showing the dollar prices, US text etc on Google, even when someone is searching from the UK. The page urls are the same, so a UK user will still get taken to the correct page, but we think it might put people off clicking.

Is there a solution to this? We considered artificially bouncing the bot to the UK version, but were concerned this might incur a penalty.

    All help much appreciated.

    Cheers

We have investigated further, and believe there may not be an easy solution (correct me if i'm wrong).

So the plan is to actually switch off the geo-targetting, but to give US visitors a message saying 'Shopping in the US? Visit our US site' that they can click on to go through to it.

    Cheers
