Deranking items

Hi Everyone,

I have a client that wants to reuce the rankings of certain sites which are ranked when the name of his co. is searched.

Their main problem is that the information featured has been superceded by new information, and the existing info show under the search is causing confusion.

Does anyone know what this procedure is called, and what if any companys deal with it.

Hi,

Deranking may not be the correct term-which I am still looking for.

I can explain it as follows. If a celebrity has certain sitesw showing information on themselves which is misleading, damaging/ incorrect is there a way of moving over pages ahead of it, and thereby "deranking" the site with erroneous information.

A celeb would be able to take legal action. Solicitors letters generally get quick removal of bad stuff.

I suppose that one way would be to try to rank things ahead to the information and thereby "push it down" in the rankings.

Could none of you work this out - its quite dissapointing
