    Hi Guys,

I have a wordpress site and when it was made the guys used an xml sitemap generator.
The issue I am having is this:
My pages urls are like this: http://www.mydomain.com/Phone-Model. I am actively building links to these urls.
However in the sitemap the urls are all like this: http://www.mydomain/phone-model (with lower case).
Then when I check my indexed pages in google, all the lower-case urls are indexed.
When I check the backlinks for http://www.mydomain.com/Phone-Model I see 30, but when I check for http://www.mydomain/phone-model I see 2, therefore the pages are treated differently.

Any ideas here? If I delete the xml sitemap and start using a new one, will I begin to loose rankings and traffic?

    Thanks,
    Marc

Since URLs can accept both uppercase and lowercase characters, don't ever, ever allow any uppercase letters in your structure. If you have them now, 301 them to all-lowercase versions to help avoid confusion. If you have a lot of type-in traffic, you might even consider a 301 rule that sends any incorrect capitalization permutation to its rightful home.

Is the URL is case sensitive. SE itself not case sensitive so how it possible.. I am thinking the bot treat all letter same .... I do not have any issue exp like this so m doubted.. But I read many article also in forums that , in link building mno need to care about letter case

    Hi Jack,

    Thanks.
I have since tried 3 different 301 plugins for wordpress to redirect the uppoer case urls to the lower case urls, and none of them seem to work.
Do you have any advice on a specific plugin to use?

    thanks,
    Marc

    Thanks Jack,

Yes I have tried that one, as it looked pretty good.
Basically I activated the plugin, but when I create the 301 redirects, it never saves them. Have you used this plugin before?
