    Hi,

I have a site on a server in US, but it is purely represented in UK. About 60% of traffic is coming from US, not even 15% comes from UK.

How can I influence Google to show me more in UK?

    cheers, dejan

If you've registered with Google Webmaster tools:

    Google Webmaster Central

You need to register your site and verify it. Then if you click on the "Site Configuration" tab, and go to "Settings", you can choose a geographic target - i.e. target users from the UK.

I've set that across all my sites, including a few .coms hosted in America. Still getting a fair bit of traffic from the US though, so not sure how effective it is.

    Hope that helps.

If you wish to have more visitors from UK or want to have good SE results in Google.co.uk you need to move the server in UK. However it would also depend on your targeted traffic. as well. Along with geographical location of server , you also need good backlinks from UK based/hosted websites.

I went through all the logs several times and that is pretty much sure thing, that if your server is in US and you have .com top level domain Google will send you US traffic.

I would go with what was said here and move server to UK or get .co.uk domain and simply redirect the traffic.

    Hi Dejan,

Mostly a website is hosted to target visitors of specific region and accordingly the website is hosted on the respective server. If your target visitors are from UK then make sure your website is hosted on a UK based server only. This would help google to categorize your website as a UK website and your website would rank better in google.co.uk. Also, your target clients from UK would get better browsing speed as compared to US server.
