    Hi there,

We have Maternity Swimwear and it was ranking at number 1 for non-exact and exact search term "maternity swimwear" up until yesterday. Then suddenly it's droped to page 9! We had a couple of issues on Wednesday where our database dropped and so had some query errors and it seems google crawled our site during this time. Could this be the cause of the problems and if so any ideas about how best to get the site back up there again.

    Thanks for any advice.

    Paul

You should login to your Google webmaster account and check the diagnostics report of your website. Google webmaster tool will help help you to find out if Google had problems finding and pages. You will have detailed report in Google webmaster account and you can get a brief overview of your search engine rankings.

Thanks for the replies. We checked the google webmaster tools and we only found that our robots.txt file had several disallow urls. Not sure why, possibly because the php errors, since then we've corrected the robots.txt file and increased the crawl rate so hopefully Google will put us back to the position we were at.

Phew, we are back. It appears that the SQL / PHP errors caused by us accidently dropping a table in our database and Google just happening to crawl the site at that point. We removed the robots.txt errors and Google has now re-crawled our site and put us back at number 1. For further information have a look at our blog, Affiliate Project.

Thanks for all the replies and help.

    Happy marketing

May be .. Google found some error or broken page while crawl. So like this issue may cause of some degradation. So now no need to worry much .. Continue the SEO for a month. If u did not get back with in a month , u r site in trouble.. so u has to check carefully and change the SEo strategy

It has been noted a lot in the SEO communities lately that UK sites are getting lower preference than US sites. There are many speculations about this, however, the thing is, no one knows why UK sites are dropping, and US sites are gaining higher positions in the UK serps.

Just a tweak on the TLd dial. Give it a few months, and .com etc will slide instead
