I'm looking to increase my PR/rankings/authority by link building through relevant, quality PR websites

Found someone that can do 11 'dofollow' links from related, non-spammy (ie too many outbound links) Travel websites for $40

Is this is a good price and/or do you know of anyone else that offers a good quality service like this?

    thanks, D

The strategies would depend on the site in question and the market etc...

You need to give us more info here, my questions to your would be (sorry for the unordered list):

Who says that 11 links is enough?
Is your site correctly optomised and search engine friendly?
    Who are your competitors?
    What keywords are you targeting?
Are these keywords correctly built into your site content?
Will the anchor text and descriptions of these links each be unique?
Will the links be no follow?
Are the pages where the links are placed cached in the search engines?
    Are the links permanent?
Will the links be from a trusted websites?
Will the links be from relevant pages on the site?
Will the links be search engine friendly?
Are the websites where the links are sourced owned by the company your getting the links from?

I agree with your other comments but would dispute this, some links bring traffic others even those from seemingly high value / relevant sites do not.

The common misconception is that some links are free, link building takes time, good link building takes more time... links should directly (through traffic) or indirectly (through SEO) bring in a ROI and the acquisition of links should be justified on this basis...

Time is money so their no such thing as a free link or a free lunch for that matter.

11 links from good sites for 40$ is good. Before decide ask the site list and check by yourself.. IF the sites having some pr at least pr3+ then no problem.. Also ask the age of the links.. may be for one moth .. then no use..

I've answered in blue below if that helps... thanks!

Their starter package includes 11 links; I'm doing this to test their level of link building before going ahead with more. In addition, search engines know when large numbers of links are built in short spaces of time, that unorganic link building is going on, so starting with 11 slow links and building up is a far safer approach
Is your site correctly optomised and search engine friendly?
I've been studying SEO for 3 years for my '9-5' role so think I've optimised my site ok so far
    Who are your competitors?
    Holiday websites
    What keywords are you targeting?
Various, predominantly seeing success with branded long-tail searches and other generics which I'll keep to myself!
Are these keywords correctly built into your site content?
Still WIP but the main ones for link building/keyword anchoring are built in
Will the anchor text and descriptions of these links each be unique?
    hope so
Will the links be no follow?
have to be 'follow' - being submitted to forums that have follow links
Are the pages where the links are placed cached in the search engines?
i've been told they are crawled
    Are the links permanent?
    not sure...assume so
Will the links be from a trusted websites?
i won't know which websites until they've been submitted and i receive a report, but will be from related websites (travel)
Will the links be from relevant pages on the site?
Will the links be search engine friendly?
    i believe so
Are the websites where the links are sourced owned by the company your getting the links from?
    no

That looks like an interesting proposal, but for the $40 I'm taking away the labour of me adding the links so whilst $5 for a set of websites that 'dofollow' is great, unfortunately I don't (and many won't) have the time to build links...

I agree with justin here - there are far to many factors involved to judge if the links are worth it or not - same applies to the link building services -
imo thats one of the reason SEO is more valuable then ever since the person (usually has more experience and found out what works or not) downside: there is no regulation and almost everybody can call himself SEO

that seems a little expensive to me, but then again if it gets you quality links then it would be worth the money spent I suppose..... are you currently making enough from your site to justfy the spending?? If so, go for it!!
