    Hi all,

I have a new site, which was indexed by Google 4 days ago, but the Title & Description, as displayed in the SERP's are as follows:

Web hosting, domain name registration and web services by XYZ Internet
Web hosting, domain names, web design,........
    www. mysite. co.uk/

The title and description are that of the domain registrar, not what's in the index page's meta tags.

Is this normal? Do I just need to wait for the next time GoogleBot visits?

    Thanks.

Looks like Google crawled your site when the domain was being setup/the holding page was in place. This meant that either Google saw a page saying "thanks for buying a super doopa domain from us" or that the IP address hadn't yet propagated and thus showed the domain sellers homepage instead. Google will eventually re crawl your site for updates and hopefully by then you will have a few pages to show it.

This is perfectly normal! Give it a month and everything will be fine. I'd forget about looking at the serps anyway as you'll have things like the "sandbox effect" to contend with before you'll start receiving visitors. Just concentrate on quality content, inbound links the usual boring stuff and by Chrimo ya'll be flying!

Perhaps play with a little PPC and get a snapshot of how ya conversions will work out?... Might even find you can turn a profit via PPC even before the organic stuff works out for ya.

    Thanks findlite,

    Makes sense now! :tup

I set up the domains to point to the host just 24 hours before the site went live, and was indexed within the next 12 hours.

In the meantime, I guess its time to build links and add content.

Ye that's it. Its takes a solid 24 hours for your new domain to propagate.

Just wait for Google to re-index the page. This may take upto a month.
