"Web search" uses the main (.com) global index. "Pages from the UK" uses a UK biased subset, with pages given a ranking boost for "UK character"
Hi,
Does anyone understand Google 'web search' and 'pages from the uk'.
Sometimes the two can show very similiar searches and sometimes they can be completely different.
'web search' also includes UK domain names.

Thanks, is 'the web' always used as default?
Yeah, I think so, but I force .com results, so I'm not sure
Also remember that if you're on google.com then it also depends which country you live.
If you're a firefox user (which you should be) then get yourself the "google global" addon, it's really helpful for seeing results in other countries.
