not a clue but i have never seen one rank when searching uk listings
How do .eu domains perform in Google UK? Does Google consider a .eu domain as UK content just like they do for .co.uk domains?
I can't find any info on this.![]()

You don't see many in search results, (as cheap dvd points out)?
Obviously this is partly due to the fact that not many people are using them but without visual evidence I would be sceptical?
You can set your global preference in webmaster tools, however, so, in theory, it shouldn't be a problem?
Overall, it depends how important it is, for a one-off niche site why worry but for a big project it may be an idea to hold back?
Reason I ask is that 123reg.co.uk are selling .eu domains at 97p for one year.
Its for a niche site so I am giving it a go. I'll report back on what I find.
Just remeber to set it on google setup to target the uk

I thought about the exact same question several months ago, but just decided to go with a .eu to see what happens anyway. Got some nice google.co.uk rankings with a .eu site now. Just make sure you've got UK based hosting and you shouldn't technically have problems ranking a .eu in google.co.uk. Setting the html language as en-gb and getting inbound links from uk based sites will help as well...
Cheers,
Mike

Thats a spam signal though
I've just checked their website, 123reg is offering .eu domains for 97p a year.
Smartphone - You can purchase a .eu domain name, if you properly optimized your website for the search engines then your website would surely perform well in the serps. Make sure you have a fresh unique content for your website and also constant link building is important from seo point of view.
