If the UK then I would go for the org.uk. However, whether I would depends upon the competition and if I think I can do well in that niche and better than the .co.uk site that is presumably already running and ranking.

Country specific extension
Other random extension

I want to register a name but its taken, there are however some options available with the words 'online', 'site', 'today' etc does google frown upon these?
Would it be better to go for an extension other than the .com (and if so a country specific one?), but the words backwards or add in a hypen?
The domain in question isn't being used by the owner but they want several thousand pounds for it which I dont have :cry
So, if my niche was games consoles for example what would be best:
Gamesconsolestoday.com
Consolesgames.com
Gamesconsoles.org.uk (.co.uk is taken)
gamesconsoles.nu
Games-consoles.com
random name which isnt really keyword friendly
My site will be targeting the uk market

Theres no website on the .co.uk but the owners are like the .coms wanting too much for me to be able to buy it![]()
Then I would grab the org.uk before it goes
You should grab it soon if available.
