A while mate, you need to have patience of a nun in this game... and then you find out you missed soemthing... I also find that if your blog or site is more regulrly updated then chnages in SEO are seen quicker. Why i dont know perhaps becuase big G bot is visiting more often insearch for content?

It depends. A really big link, maybe a few days. For less valuable ones, maybe 12 months. Normally, I'd expect to see improvements in 2 - 6 months

I have seen sites that index a link within minutes and other sites take weeks.

One would expect a variation but sometimes it is not the 'big' sites that are fast - maybe I have been lucky that the spider was in the area that day :tup

I think that it is fair to say that patience is the key - a fisherman would make a good SEO!

Depending on the number and quality of the backlinks and the relative competitiveness of your niche it could be a day or it might not make that much difference at all.

Wow, I'm surprised it's that long?
