A short while ago, I started working with a fellow forum member, James Evans (James Evans SEO), to develop my SEO skills and knowledge. I wanted to give you some feedback on what it's been like working with James.

I was at the point in my knowledge of 'advanced beginner', you know the thing - all self-taught, picked up some great basic knowledge and some bad habits but not sure 100% which was good and which was bad. Like so many of us on this forum, I was looking for quick wins and corners to cut. What I have learnt so far is that those are the bad habits that I need to break. Yes, there are things that can be done that can save time, there are also tools that you can use to help. But the bottom line is that I need to start developing a strategic SEO plan for each of my sites if I am serious about them.

Think of it another way. If you were doing this for a large corporate company, would you manage your sites in the same way? Would you skip from one 'good idea' to another just because you thought it might work? Would you entrust the reputation of the company's website on trying out the latest fads - on a whim?

Anyway, here is a quick summary of the course..

Pros:
- We worked at a pace that I chose
- Never any pressure to change the speed of the course
- All via email so I could refer back to previous lessons
- Highly affordable
- James constantly asked if I had any questions
- He responded to my questions clearly and almost immediately
- Wealth of suggestions
- Introduction to a large number of tools that I had never heard of (some free, some paid for)
- Live site used (my site)
- James communicates well
- Clear step by step process

Cons:
- My only comment here is that there is so much to do!

Conclusion:

I can whole heartedly recommend James, he's worth every penny. But before you start this process, make sure you have the time and committment to complete it. The old saying is true here .. you reap what you sow.
