Report them to google if they're spam
I'm seeing some very strange results in google for a whole load of different search terms
example, searching google for 'chelsea gymsack' (without quotes) returns hundreds of crappy domains cluttering the results.
domains such as
crookedgear.info
dontexist.com
curiousgear.info
bettergear.info
selfip.org
stickygear.info
cheerfulgear.info
squealinggear.info
carelessgear.info
etc etc....
all these domains were regd around the same time and are probably owned by the same person (thats how it looks to me anyway) and are pushing genuine merchants sites way down the rankings
so, does anyone have any idea what is going on here as I'm seeing these same domains appearing for a few different search terms?
Oh I am sure it is. But google responds well to having things pointed out to them.
There's some nasty forum spam bot thing that's done something recently but I am sure google will rise on top of it and crush it like an insect very soon.
I have reported a really insane site recently - cleverly put together but utterly useless.
Read what they are offering...on there pages....read them in deep..
if they are some crappy rubbish..thing providers......and gettig upranking by bad techiniques..
than just let google know........you have link on side of the site...while you search......just
find voilation of google terms..and you find area to notify....google..
Goodl luck...![]()
And the more of these sites that google gets told about the better it should get at not including them in the first place. They must be able to watch the development of link types and set up pattern watches to look out for them again.

this is indicative of browser malware which will feed dodgy (non google-sourced) results - it is unlikely a Google SERP result.
This has absolutely nothing to do with with browser malware. They are real google results and the incidence of them has been increasing over the past 3 to 4 months.
The method being used is relatively sophisticated and involves wildcard DNS fun and games coupled with a bit of cloaking and redirection. The method is used by some companies who sell targeted traffic to others given that it is a keyword based methodology.
There are some UK affiliates exploiting this method which drops a cookie on the redirect. An example - loading ... - I just might set up a bot to click the link a few thousand times and the merchant will wonder where all the crap traffic came from. Anyways, I am sure that webgains may well ask the affiliate concerned a question or two.
The fact is that I have previously contacted the DNS providors and told them of this abuse of their set ups and I have managed to get some of the offenders shut down but the trend is for more to be set up. Looking at the stats of some of the sites involved then they are generating more traffic month by month which is clearly making them a profit which is funding the next round of wildcard domains. The reason that I am aware of these practices is that I generate unique phrases for my sites and Google alerts tell me when my content is being scraped and I always investigate those who take my content.
You will see more of this, in fact I reckon that if I published the method in detail then there would be quite a few people here who would give it a go, but some of us do have standards to uphold!
OK I decided to take a look.
The DNS cache poisoning however is annoying, but I suspect they will be dropped at the next crawl. They don't seem to be google cached yet.
Why go to that trouble when you can simply buy some domains, "mature" them, and then cloak from googlebot (not easy I assure you as they have taken some clever precautions) and A record redirect to your affiliate link. This is actually quite legal of course. It used to be easy but is getting harder to hide.
Also the referer cloaking will raise issues with many affiliates.
Nothing sophisticated about it however.
