no its a separate listing altogether
why not submit your own business?
www.google.com/local/add
Hi all,
I recently started my link building and I'm slowly getting higher on page 1 for my main keyword. I'd like to end up 1st in the organic results.
However, at the top of the results, just after the sponsored links, Google is showing "local business results" on a map. Does this count as the first organic result, and is there any way I could ever place 1st?
Thanks,
Simon

If I could appear in those listings, that'd be great - but my site just offers a service and I don't actually have a bricks-and-mortar business that goes with it. I'll look into it though, thanks.
I do have an actual business, but I'm still unsure of how to get near the top of the map listing. Having read it, Google seem to advise having a good all round site will push your relevance up, but nothing straight forward.
