General SEO / PPC / Registering ULR Question

Hi there

Forgive me for for asking really some simple questions. I'm compleletly new to this and am getting really frustrated with my affiilate site. I wondered if anyone could help me with the following?:

1. Am having problems building my site map. I've gone through the motions on xml sitemaps.com, but can't find the public_html/ folder in my Joomla content management system.

2. I've registered my url with Google, Yahoo, MSN and Ask Jeeves yesterday, but my site doesn't appear in the search engines. Am I being impatient or should it happen instantly (i understand it will be right at the bottom at the moment, but if I type my URL in the search engine it should come up right?)

3. I wanted to start PPC, can I do this before I have a site map?

Would be great if someone could help! Want to start making some cash ASAP!!

why not upload using a free ftp software like filezilla.com
then you can just upload directly to your public_html folder

It takes time for the search engines to index your site and display it in SERPs (search engine results pages), it doesnt happen instantly
Their are easy ways to speed things up, e.g. digg an article on your website (digg.com) etc

Yes of course you can
it sounds like you're a novice though, so perhaps have someone set it up for you
