In a word, no.

Just ensure you have a few backlinks to your site to get you indexed, then make sure you have a sitemap on the site and listed in Google Webmaster Tools. The SEs will do the rest.

There isn't much of a need to be listed on any other search engine other than the main few, as they cover 99.9% of all searches.

Also if you go for one of those mutliple submission things the only thing you'll end up with is an endless stream of spam in your inbox.

No it's not worth it. And you actually do not need to submit your sites to the search engines to get indexed. All you need to do is get back links from frequently crawled pages. Doesn't really matter if they are do follow or no follow

If you're doing half the things you need to do then the se will know about you and come and look at your site regularly to see what you're doing with it.
