The question to ask is .. have you ever seen a .eu in the SERPS? Maybe you have but I haven't.
I have seen a couple "exact match" .EU domains and while doing some research I noted that there are still a lot very good .EU domain names out there.
It looks as if nobody is registering them, does anyone know the reason for that?
Has anyone been able to get a .EU website ranking well in a competitive niche/term?

Just search for Europa or Europe in Google and europe/eu will show up in the first 4 results.
But maybe this is a bit unfair![]()
Personally I'm not a fan of .eu domains, I've not seen any .eu domain getting extra advantage for being a .eu domain.
I find they rank ok. I feel they're not that popular because the country specific extension is always favoured by surfers and the .eu is a bit vague geographically.
Rgds
I've got a number of .eu's and have worked on 3 of them. 1 of them fairly hard and got it rank very well. The other two I've just whacked a but of content up, a couple of links to it and there's good potential.
It's usually the people that dismiss things out of hand that lose opportunities.
Just don't forget to set country focus in GWMT.
