I know a 100% foul proof way to get your web pages (even deep ones) index by Google in around 48 hours.

I am actually surprised no one has said anything yet.

Anyway being a total git I am going to hold off posting what you do for a little while yet, as I am more than sure others here knows the answer and just not posted yet. So go on if you think you know the answer or would like to take a stab at it, post away.

If your right I will reply, if no one gets it I will post what you do on Wednesday.

Seriously, I've often wondered whether drawing attention to a site by sticking an AdSense advert on it and then viewing the page would get Google to pay attention to a site quicker than normal.

    Give yourself a Gold Star

That's it, that's exactly it. I was doing a bit of work for my wife’s company and they use Google AdSense, I don't. Anyway I was reading up on it all and from the Google AdSense help files it says this.

"Our system has not yet crawled all the pages of your website.
You may notice that after you place the AdSense ad code on a web page, you do not receive the most relevant ads. If Google has not previously crawled your site, it may take up to 48 hours or more before our crawlers gather content from that page. In the meantime, the ads you see may be public service ads, for which you will not receive earnings. Or, you may see only slightly relevant ads. The relevance will increase over time."

So if you have a brand new site/pages and you want them listed quickly but don't have a PR 5/10+ site then this is a quick and free way to get a crawl. Simply upload the code and then make sure you visit all the pages and hey presto here comes Google Bot.

No idea if it helps your in the index, I would think it would not but at least your in.

Adsense code only attracts the google mediapartners bot though doesn't it? Maybe googlebot follows this one round not sure.

    Google toolbar helps too.

Im sure a link off google.com would get you indexed pretty quickly too...

That's what I thought but normal Google Bot came along and the pages are all 0/10s (Google knows them but have not yet applied a ranking to them) of course other factors could have been at play.. but the pages had been up for about a week before the code was added then suddenly it was Google Bot central.

I know it's not scientific only going on one site, but hey if you are Google you be mad not to at least index your partners pages even if you where not going to apply special filters to get them more traffic

I've got a new site that I've been working on - at the moment it's got no links in - so I'll try wacking a few AdSense ads on and see if GoogleBot pays a visit.

Ian im sure it will work, draws attention to the site but I think your google toolbar will draw attention too. I just whacked a new page up with adsense on and visited it, almost straight away ive had the mediapertners bot. No google bot yet though. But with me they always all seem to come at once I never get the odd random googlebot visiting just one or two pages.

It would make sense to me for Google to index content collected by the mediapartners bot just the same as the normal bot, but I'm not sure if it does.

Put it this way, there seems to be a rough correlation between a sites PR and how deep normal googlebot will crawl. So they are kind of saying 'we only think this site is quite important so don't waste index space on too much of it' (there will always be a link between index size and perfomance/manageability).

If they then indexed data from mediapartners, then the index would include a lot of data that they normally wouldn't be interest in storing.

They can control when googlebot collects data, where as mediapartners is instigated from a user request for a page with adsense on. I've never noticed, put does mediapartners come back to a page in the future, or is it left to googlebot after the first grab. If it does come back to the same page then it seems feasible that the two indexes are kept separate (but they could still be updated together)

The other thing to take into account is Opera 7.2 includes an adsense banner that causes mediapartners to visit any page an Opera user visits.

I don't believe Google aim to index every page on the web - else why would 'only' 806,000 pages of amazon.co.uk be in there.

Having said all that, I'm going to see if I can stick adsense on another site and see if it makes any difference.

People have contacted Google 'post-Florida' regarding the relationship between the organic results and the commercial results, especially as some people continue to believe that Florida was a conspiracy to encourage greater adwords spending.

Google pretty much said that the organic and commercial aspects of its business are totally seperate and don't share data in any way. Of course you wouldn't expect them to admit to this but I'd thought I'd add my two penneth

Just tried the Opera 7.2 idea and it works - visited some new pages using Opera 7.2 about 2pm this afternoon and Googlebot has already been to visit

Oh well - only another 15,000 pages on my site to view in Opera.......

Time to put a "Download Opera" link on all our new sites I think

surely if you've got a massive site it would be pretty easy to write a little bot that runs round viewing all your pages and letting adsense know that your pages exist ?

Had problems with my site totally vanishing from google - including the index.

Google hadn't called for the last 3 weeks. Following suggestions on the forum I inserted adsense - googlebot (not mediabot) visited within a few minutes of my updating the site and I was re-indexed and listed - heaven knows where, but at least it's a start!!

Don't know if there's any connection but inktomi was also hard on the heals of googlebot?

    Update: - late evening

Google came back 6 times during the day and my listing was in-out, in-out, in-out.....shake it all about (sorry about that, got carried away for a moment with my own private google dance).

Think I'll just sit back for a while and see what happens.

xenu's a useful little tool for crawling youir site for broken links - this could probably trigger adsense nice and quickly.

Check your site activity logs and look for lines starting

crawler*.googlebot.com - where * can be any number between 1 and 21 (roughly)
