What's with the little blue arrow in search results at the moment?

I think (still haven't seen it myself!), this is a tweak following on from instant launching, and is allowing keyboard controls - you can move the blue arrow I think with arrow keys, then hit enter to activate the relevant result.

It has been said elsewhere that the arrow appears to draw the users eye in, and *could* look like some sort of endorsement, so when on sponsored, it will be interesting to see the effect on ppc costs and clicks!

It is exactly like you say perpetual - keyboard navigation.

Ahh, I didnt realise it moved with keyboard navigation and haven't seen it on the paid search results yet. Just thought it was there to draw the eye to the first result. Would be good if it moved with the cursor movement as well.

I think its quite clever ploy by google to link the paid searches to the standard serps.
