It's based on the destination URL. So you coul dhave a merchant on 2 or 3 networks, but only one advert will be shown for the merchant (unless a premium listing is being displayed then anotehr will be).

Hi all, ok ive read about this new rule for google adwords, that 2 adverts cant have the same destination url and if they do then only 1 will show.
Now wht about if you use your affiliate destination url, example. ie clkuk.tradedoubler.com etc etc etc
Would this be included in the new rules, every account has a unique id but the main url is the same and the destination url is obviously jamster so what does this mean.

I am not sure about the answer to your original question, but I think you need to be careful about sending traffic straight to Tradedoubler from SE's like Google.
I think Tradedoubler only track and pay for leads coming in from the websites declared in your site setup.
I seem to recall us doing something similar to what you are suggesting a couple of years ago and wondering we were never credited with any sales.
Perhaps things have changed with Tradedoubler to allow this now though??
My understanding is that they won't track clicks but they will track sales this way.Perhaps things have changed with Tradedoubler to allow this now though??
Mine too & Ive discussed this with TD a couple of timesOriginally posted by Fraser

It wont work anyway. Well wont work when they have ironed out the bugs. 1 ad per url.
My understanding anyway. If you look around what you have suggested isnt happening.
harris1 is correct, this is not happening. Apart from very sporadic searches where many urls which are the same are shown.
In addition a url of "clkuk.tradedoubler.com" I doubt will attract at decent CTR and i expect will not pass an adwords review.
Putting a network url in google adwords does violate googles 'back button rule'.
They will come around regularly and dissaprove your campaign.
