Has dropped for our main site getminted.com and when you search the site using the term getminted nothing comes up for www.getminted.com it used to appear top of the listings on such a search. Weird and somewhat annoying has anyone experienced anything similar over the weekend?

Yes there is some very wierd stuff going on with the google index. I have had a simialr experience with a few domains over the last three - four days.

One wierd example is:- I have the .com and the .co.uk of a domain and the .co.uk is 301 ed to the .com. Google has for ages never shown the .co.uk as its just a redirect.

Two days ago you type in the domain (like getminted) and the .com was nowhere to be seen !? but all of a sudden the .co.uk is? A day later the .com comes back and the .co.uk disappears.

..and that just one example I am seeing loads of pages drop internally as well and lots of pages not having a cache - even though they are unique.

I hope your rankings come back, and mine! I think we may have to sit tight while this big update takes place.

Reveals some of our search friendly pages have also been dropped which were on sub domains - I hope there is not some strange arb. rule changes going on but probably I am wrong.

In your experience running searches for your site does it seem that if you use a keyword that is in the domain your page doesn't show in the results?

I have a few 'keyworded' domains and the incoming refferals from google using those keywords is dropping.

    Hmm

    Sit tight!
