Some pretty interesting stuff. I am assuming this really is from google, although it seems hard to verify and could well be an elaborate hoax.

    Google rater spam guidelines paper

Certainly there are people who google hires to rate spam, the user interface for this was leaked a month or so back and it seems to tie into this quite well.

    Thoughts, anyone?

It means 'lazy affiliates' need to get their act together.

The other interesting thing is that Google always insist that their search results are 100% algorithm generated - this suggests there is human intervention.

The output from the human intervention is probably used to program the filters that then generate the results - just like some email spam filters learn by users "telling" them what they see as spam.

So technically the results would be still 100% auto generated.

ROFLMAO. Yeah, right. Hand tweaks are, and probably will remain, a large part of the "algo" in certain sectors

Spot on. Any direct hand tweaks to the index are performed only by highly experienced Search Engineers, who know what they are looking for, and have a very clear corporate vision of what their SE wants in / out of their index
