Is it just merchants in there?

I thought it was supposed to be *just* people actually selling stuff but ciao is listed. They're just reviews aren't they? Oh reviews and affil links

Froogle does pick up sites, sometimes affiliate sites to back fill when there's not enough from merchants. Maybe this is what's happened? Or are they showing up more than they should?
Your right though, should usually be merchant only 99.99% of the time

It might just be a "cross my palm with silver" thing, Mogga.
It's amazing how things can change when a big player is in there.
Yahoo! have said publically in the past that they are not very pro-affilate, then they go and buy Kelkoo the biggest affiliate website there is.
Now you have links at the top of Y! pages taking you to Kelkoo.

I hope froogle doesnt go down this route, I actually think it could be very good (though it's a nail in the coffin for us lot). It has the potential for being a true "comparison site", one that isn't just for merchants that pay to be there and I don't think I've seen one of those on the net.
Of course the old cinic in me is wondering if / how long it will stay free

    Cheers
    Aly

Had another look today and its seriously got lots of affil stuff in it.
Wondering if its worth having a go if they're that bad at policing it.

This google base thing is already filling with rubbish too I noticed.

Personally, I'm getting more and more upset by finding Google "Product search results" at the top of many of my searches, see:

Yahoo! is also doing this with Kelkoo, and I doubt it will be long before MSN is at it too. None of the big three are going to ignore the potential of the shopping space. The questions are:

    - How big a threat is this going to be?
    - How can affiliates respond to it?

Its going to really hurt if you're at the end of the loop. Get further up the loop or get out of the system. Or fiddle it like some seem to do.

A couple of my sites have items listed in Froogle.

I didnt ask them to do it or try to trick them - they did it all by themselves - not that I'm complaining
Never argue with idiots. They just drag you down to their level and then beat you with their experience.

If ignorance is bliss then some of the people I know must be orgasmic.
