I found recently that there are two really effective ways to optimize Web pages for Google AdSense ads:

1. Action: Create a description at the top of each Web page.
Use keywords in the description, and link those keywords
to pages that are named after those keywords

Reason: Search engines index pages by scanning text that appears
at the top of a Web page.

2. Action: Write content that uses keywords under which you
want your Web page to be listed in the search engines. Your
objective should be to optimize each page for one main keyword.
Don't try to get a single page indexed under multiple keywords

Reason: Search engines like Goolge scan and index pages according
to keyword density. This means that Google will most likely index
a page under a word that occurs multiple times on a page. Don't
purposely stuff keywords into a Web page, though. That would just
result in goofy-sounding content.
