A couple of days ago my steady level of Google Adwords clicks just stopped for no apparent reason.

    My credit is good.
The ads still report as live and running.
This affects several different campaigns running on separate sites.

I've reported the problem via the contact form but no reply so far - which is pathetic but no surprise.

Has this happened to anyone else? Is there a way to kick them back into action (I tried pausing them and reactivating them)?

I remember in December last year, getting a Adwords message about migrating my account to a different kind of Google account. It said something like 'you have until Janurary the 12th to make this migration' - does that ring any bells?

I've had that happen to me once when my account was "under review" which is apparently part of their normal approval process and it left my account on hold for a couple of days before it all just started running again.

Yes it has happened to me before. As Fraser says Google periodically review everyone's campaigns and mine were down for a day once although usually it should only take a few hours. Best thing to do is complain and you may get a credit in your account, I did.

So they have to suspend your account to review it?

    I thought Google were hi-tech

I migrated the account a while back so it's not that and the ads are still not running so I've sent a further whinging email. Thanks for the feedback guys, I'll let you know what they come back with (eventually!)

Our ads are running again now and Fraser and Keiron were spot on, the account was under review. I'm pleased our site must have passed the review but really annoyed they don't have something in the interface to indicate this.
If the ads had stopped in the run-up to Christmas it could have seriously damaged one of our sites.

    Here's the email:

    Hello Joe,

Thank you for your email regarding your ads not running. I've confirmed that your ads are now running on Google.

I've confirmed that your ad is running on Google.

Your ads weren't running because your account was under review. If you continue to have difficulty viewing your ad, please reply to this message with the keywords you are using to search for your ad. I will then be happy to research the problem further.

We apologize for the disruption to your ad delivery.

I agree Joe that surely they can put a little "under review" entry at the top of the page or something like that to let you know whats going on.

I remember moaning to them about that when it happened to me a year ago but it's obvious nothing has changed.

Glad it's all back up and running now though

Happened to me last year too - it seems absolute madness to me. They splash across the adwords front page about how you can be up and running in minutes, which suggests that they understand the time critical nature of the use of adwords, yet stop accounts for days at a time to review them.

I'm sure i'm still one of the little fish in the adwords market, but losing activity on my account for three days would cost me in profits approximately twice my mortgage payment! I hate to think how much some of the bigger affiliates could lose out on for this reason.

They've done it again! I'm REALLY annoyed now and every day they're offline we're losing revenue, I've asked for compensation this time.
Much as I hate the Overture interface, their pickiness and how long it take to get ads live once they're live they have, IME, stayed live.

Consider your self lucky that this only happens to you once every now and again.

To me it happens about 4 times a day without any apologies
