I'm still rather new to the whole SEO scene even though i've posted comments on some SEO aspects of affiliate site questions out there.

what my question is, I'm currently developing a new site of mine:

    www.evolvapromotions.com

And I'm wondering whats the best way to SEO this, because alot of what I've read on SEO is all about additional articles to support the site and just basicaly fill up your whole website with lots of keyword articles on various related subjects. Sureley this wont work well for merchant sites as these could make your site look cluttered rather than simple and easy to access and therefore to the benefit of your customers. I know my site hasn't got much content at the moment but this is still very new and is under constant development.

    Second

Regarding Search engine submission, is there anything important i should remember when trying to get listed onto DMOZ, I know the site must be completely finished with no broken links bad spelloring or anything like that but what additional things could get me rejected for a straight forward merchant promotional gifts site?

Thanks in advance for any help you can give me

There are loads of savvy SEO'ers on this forum but by the nature of what they do... I hardly think they will post their answers. Hopefully you will have received some PMS and if not...

a good place to start re SEO would be www.threadwatch.com or http://www.seobook.com

forums.seochat.com is another goldmine of information - may advice would be to dedicate a few hours here and there reading up on the subject in forums etc.

As Jess says, nobody will just present you with "the answer". In fact, I doubt any one person even has the answer.

    Search is your friend.

OK - not going to give away any massive seo secrets but a few things immediately leap out at me

    1. You need to look at your title tags - are people really going to search for evolvapromo or are they going to search for what you sell - hint hint hint

    2. Get rid of the frames, frames are to search engines what a hard saddle is to a man with piles...

    3. Try to put all that javascript at the top of the products page into an external file.

    Hope that helps
Never argue with idiots. They just drag you down to their level and then beat you with their experience.

If ignorance is bliss then some of the people I know must be orgasmic.
