    A quote from the article:

"The search giant has sought to reassure privacy advocates, saying it will not keep the information for more than 30 days and strictly limit who has access to the data."

Yeh, mmm.. alright they must think we are getting dumb and dumber How any company thinks they have the right to store the contents of your hard drive on their servers is beyond me. Next thing they'll have Google satellite spies scanning our homes, watching where we go to all day and whom we see, etc., etc. But you get my drift, maybe not Google but maybe some of these things are already happening?

And I don't have anything to hide by the way but I do still value my privacy and the privacy of my family, and supposedly we live in a democratic and free society? I hope many others do value privacy too and are not fooled by what people say they are doing but rather what they do .

    Anyway that's my rant over.

heh come work where I do. Sign the Offical Secrets Act and your life away at the same time.

Ive heard of people who got written warnings for going to the toilet too much. We are tracked thru the use of RFID chips in our ID cards, and even have to swipe to go to the toliet!!!

Give it a few years and we will all be carrying RFID chipped ID cards and passports, every traffic light will record the RFID chip in our car dashboard and in order to get prescriptions you just need to wave your arm which has an RFID chip embedded under the skin over a scanner...
Ok maybe not a few years, prob 10-20 years.

LOL! Not very fair with people who have IBS or a similar disorder though.
I worked in one place one time where the boss was an absolute control freak and monitored everyone's loo visit. Anyway to cut the story short I didn't stay for too long!

Yes, I see what you are saying about those RFID chips. I'm sure there'll be plenty more of that to come. Technology can bring freedom and it can also be a major threat to the freedom we once knew
