Google only shows some of your links. There was a theory at one time that it only showed links from pages with a high pr.
You might see more if you use this link, but I'm not even sure that shows them all....
Hi All
Don't know if anybody can advise me on this one. When I do a backlink search on google for sportsmadbetting.com google come up with backlinks which to be honest are pretty irelevant, but I have spent some time on getting my links page up together and I have now 69 links to my site from other sites. Why doesn't google list these as backlinks? am I missing something

Google broke the "link:" search a while ago due to abuse, and server load. These days you get (at best) 50% of the actual backlinks, but the seed list is messed with first (some of the authorities knocked first etc)
Thanks fifimac for your response I will try that tool. Its been a while since I put this question on the forum I thought everybody had left and joined the private forum therefore leaving the less knowledgeable ones like me to go looking elswhere for other helpful forums

Cos they will be, some guys will hijack your page, or maybe hijack google results search (which is more likely here)...google can't cope with copy-cat results, so you will get dropped from the index eventually. It happens all the time, if guy (a) coppies your site and points more links to it, your site will be dropped (as the duplicate content site) even if your site is the original.
Google does this all the time, many excuses from the good people on ww (googlebot sucking forum)![]()
The only way round it is to tm the name, then google have to listen, which explains why 'big companies' are unaffected by google algos.
Ok bmw just got done..but really a pub stunt from google
