    Hi,

if anyone uses Google Sitemaps and hasn't logged in for a few days, you probably should.

The headers required on the XML files have been changed, so you'll probably see error messages reported. Once you get that sorted, it'll then report any errors in the actual XML files.

All very handy, but some notification would have been nice!

I've just checked mine & can't see any errors - they were last downloaded 17 & 18 March.

I can't see anything on the site re header changes - where is this, please? Mine are very simple - I just change them by hand ever so often.

the only change I noticed was to the date format ie. I previously displayed the date as 2006-1-1 and had to change it 2006-01-01 - now all ok

No errors showing for me, they're being downloaded daily from a number of different sites, and I haven't changed anything in the way they are generated.

I got the "invalid File Format", and upon checking it seems they changed the schema,

    more here..

    http://groups.google.com/group/googl...dd5a7caec979ee

Not sure why only some people are affected and not others? We've had our sitemaps in their previous format for a fair while, is it possible they updated the schemas a while back and are only now killing the legacy version?

I changed headers as described here..

Not sure if this is any help,

I've been writing a lot of my Google Sitemap files by hand and I haven't noticed any changes.. Like the others, my existing sitemaps are still showing no errors..

Had to recreate and submit ALL of my sitemaps. ew. Still, only took about 20 minutes, so not too bad, i guess. I'm just glad all but 2 are automated.
