Phew - so our nails can start growing again now then!
From Matt Cutt's Blog:
"We’re down to just 1-2 data centers left in the switchover to Bigdaddy. It’s possible that the Bigdaddy switchover will be complete in the next week or two. Just as a reminder, Bigdaddy is a software upgrade to Google’s infrastructure that provides the framework for a lot of improvements to core search quality in the coming months (smarter redirect handling, improved canonicalization, etc.). A team of dedicated people has worked very hard on this change; props to them for the code, sweat, and hours they’ve put into it."

i take it your not having positive results from this update? i've been very pleased - one of the very, very highly competitive sites i've been seo'ing has moved from page 6 to page 2 on new BD servers![]()
there is always winners in losers with updates on google 9/10 i seem to be a loser
hopefully it still has time to change more and my results will improve.
loving this update. gone from pos.2 out of 9mil to pos.1 out of 36mil on .co.uk
same search term on google.com puts me in pos.3 out of 8mill though![]()
Seem to have lost about 2k links(or maybe they are just not showing up now?)
I think I can live with that.

Read rollback thread. I think this could explain your loss in links. It will only be temporarily while all the sites are re-crawled.
its not an update.
"Special offer, 2 for a £1"
the algo hasnt changed.

Well - I'm sitting happy at number 2 for "Internet Marketing" in the UK, but I'm a monkey's uncle if I can shift the number one guy!
We don't seem to have any negative affects of Big Daddy accross any of our clients this time round. If any have edged up, it's only I think due to a few others getting hurt above us. Some people seem to have felt dramatic changes - but it's been all quiet really for me. I did, however, do lots of research on Blogs recently and I noticed that their PR structure most almost entirely high home page PR, zero inner page PR. That is WAY different to out clients who almost always have inner PR the same or one less than front page. Do you think that this is the reason for the stark differences in the effects people are feeling?
Receptional Internet Marketing
last week we saw 'fluxing' hour to hour - instead of the steady increase/decrease as the day wore on - over the weekend it seems to have settled down and we're getting similar visitor and revenue levels - but hitting different keywords, areas and merchants.
So maybe this is it Big Daddy has nearly finished - now we wait and see if GG is still goint to roll out the 'mini updates' - the ones where we fall for about 1 or 2 months - worry like crazy and then bounce back for the summer.
