Anyone else noticed the big jump in PR today?? we certainly did PR of 0 (which we've been for nearly over a year) to a PR of 5

Well happy. Had a site that's been banned for 2 years after taking the pish with G but did earn a fair whack.

Got round to changing it a couple of months ago, did a re-inclusion request and now upto 6.

Easiest way is to have googles toolbar installed on IE

    or goto a website likehttp://www.checkpagerank.com/

Its debatable on if having a good PR is of any worth these days though - some say yes , some say no - personally im just glad that at least we aren't banned from google like we thought

    Hi

You can download and use google tool bar which includes the PR indicator.
Some people do not trust google with this.

Search for google page rank checker in google.

There is some question over the value or page rank.

Hah, that's one way of putting it

FWIW, Google employees have stated in public that the PR values publically available from the toolbar are 1) generally out of synch with the "real" values used internally (they'll be about right for the next few weeks) 2) mostly for decorative purposes anyway

The way PR works has changed radically over time, and it no longer plays anything like such a big part in the rankings. High PR is nice, but you can rank well with any PR score. Oh, and you can fake PR anyway... expect a new round of fraudulent link exchange emails in the wake of the update

I have said this before , I have more traffic now to my domain with PR 5 than did in 2004 with PR8.

Google PR does not equate to traffic..... not quite sure what it is actually good for other than a subject for discussion?

I've not seen any movement either, but IMO PageRank is pretty much for entertainment purposes these days, it only forms a small part of the overall algorithm.
