    Hi

Im looking for a script to take an incoming Google alert and transfer the contents to a MySQL database (so I can use it for a news feed). This is for a niche that I haven't found a single RSS feed for.

    Any ideas?

If not, guess I will have to write one.

All you need to do an rss feed of google news is the url:

    http://www.google.com/news?hl=en&ned...F-8&output=rss

where your+query in the url above is replaced by what you want to display stories about.

I'm pretty sure their t&cs say you can't call and display search data direct.

So to get round that, can I use a little script to pick up the xml and save it, then strip out the headers, and process? Or would that also violate their rules?
